NEW ARTICLE: Interview with Anita Knudsen.
There are not many female fly fishers in the country. Over the years I've been doing my course, I have met a few, and everyone's talking about the same. That's a shame there are not more women who fish with a fly rod. It may actually seem a bit "scary" that is so dominated by men, in quest for more knowledge to learn more about this wonderful hobby.

ARTICLE: Interview with Gaute Gjemble.
It is with great pleasure that I can present the next fly tier in this series, this time it's Gaute Gjemble that tell us about his best flies. I have fished in the upper parts of the Gaula for 15 years now, and it was not long before I began to hear rumors about a special fisherman from this part of the valley, rumors said that this guy got a lot of salmon.

ARTICLE: Interview with Terje Vågsdal.
This time it is Terje Vågsdal that will tell us about his favorite flies, Terje is a guy I've had the pleasure of knowing for many years. He worked long as a salesman in the Guideline, so we worked closely together and had a lot of fun to work with a little teasing of each other's catches and fishing theories, but also very exciting to test the equipment and talk fishing basically all the time. Christmas parties were never boring, maybe some little dancing, but as I said absolutely not boring.

Articles in autumn 2008.
Hi.

It is only a week left of the season, thus the updates of my fishing diary are coming to and end. After this I will again write about various things, articles to come in the near future, starting from September, are: The flies of the 2008 season. Fishing beats on the river Gaula; I will provide some advice on a few beats on the Gaula. The Scandinavian style “modern double handed casting technique”, here I will give a detailed description on how you load a double-handed rod in the most effective way.

I will also extend the Home format, to make space for advertisers, I have had many requests around this, and therefore it is great to inform you that this will be sorted out during September.

The various rivers.
Several things affect the fishing from one river to another. “My river” (the River Gaula) is not regulated, which means that periodically this river can become small enough to be classified as a small salmon river. Other rivers, such as the River Orkla, are regulated, thus a certain water level is always ensured, also during drought periods. Several factors can affect the running pattern of salmon from river to river, some rivers are so-called “late rivers”, whereas other rivers are “early”, with regards to when salmon run the river. As I write in my articles, local knowledge is always an important element in order to succeed in different conditions. However, when the salmon are running the river, their behaviour will be the same for the various conditions. Besides this, fishing methods might differ from river to river, influenced by the character of the river. My articles are written according to my best knowledge, these represent my own opinions and to all you highly skilled salmon fishermen and women around; this is not meant to undermine your own experiences.
